PERSONAL EXPRESSION Judges will score the delegate based on the following criteria: creativity, individuality and confidence, sense of putting her personality into her look. Outfit To Be Worn For This Category is a white scoop-neck (must be plain with no decoration) cap sleeve, fitted t-shirt, (no see through shirts) No illusion, button-down or midriff shirts allowed. No belly may show and points will be deducted if this occurs. Blue Jeans, a variation of blue including dark, stone washed, acid washed or the like. No colored, multicolored or black jeans allowed. Jeans must cover the entire seat area and no undergarments can be exposed. Jeans can be straight leg or baggy, depending upon delegates preference. Decorate the by paint, studs, jewelry, fabric, accessories, or pictures by the delegate in an effort to show personality, creativity and individuality. Additional accessories permitted: Hat, belt/suspenders, neck scarf, earrings. NO vests, Jackets, sweaters, etc. permitted.
SCHOOL AND COMMUNITY Activities Judging based on the following criteria: commitment to activities, school clubs & organizations, leadership excellence, offices held, community involvement.
INTERVIEW Titleholders must be articulate with excellent social and conversational skills. Titleholders must be able to express themselves clearly, diplomatically and must project a pleasant personality at all times. Judging criteria: conversational skill, personality, articulation, demeanor, grooming, attributes and ability to serve as a spokesperson for National Teenager. Contestants will have an individual 4 minute interview with each judge.
EVENING GOWN Judges will not be evaluating the cost of the gown, but rather how well it suits the delegate (e.g. fit, color, style) as well as the delegate's on-stage presentation. Evening gown must be floor length. Judging criteria: presence & personality, overall appearance, sense of style and charm.
ON-STAGE QUESTION Getting to know you on stage question from interview/application. Judging criteria: articulation, quality of response, personality and poise.
